Join us for our fourth Annual Green Jobs event on Thursday, August 17th, 6-8:30 pm.  We’re bringing together green job seekers and providers of green jobs.  We’ll focus on current market and future market trends. There will also be a pre-event workshop titled: “What’s Your Green Career Plan?”   

The event venue will be the DC Sustainable Energy Utility located at 80 M Street, SE, Washington, DC. 20003.

Workshop – What’s Your Green Career Plan?

A Workshop for Careers at All Levels

This 90-minute career management workshop is designed for people at all career levels who want to make the world a better place – whether you’re looking to enter the Green Jobs field, move up, or over.

Participants will begin to develop a personalized career plan, which includes:

  1. Assessing yourself: Your career strengths, preferences, and what you have to offer
  2. Exploring career options, right now and for the future
  3. Creating a career plan and setting goals
  4. Expand your skills and network
  5. Finding your next job

This action-based workshop uses experiential exercises and provides practical tools and resources for your career management plan. 

Come prepared to learn about yourself, and how you can take the next step in support of your success in the green economy.

PANEL SPEAKERS

Marilyn Waite, Author of “Sustainability at Work: Careers that Make a Difference”

Marilyn Waite currently leads the energy practice at Village Capital, serves on the Board of Directors for Engineers for a Sustainable World, and is a Senior Research Fellow at Paul Hawken’s Project Drawdown.  Ms. Waite is the author of “Sustainability at Work: Careers that Make a Difference”, she has addressed audiences worldwide on topics ranging from sustainability in careers to technologies in the energy-water nexus.

Ms. Waite founded SustainableVisit, an app and online platform, that provides users with sustainable tourism suggestions for locations worldwide. Ms. Waite holds a Master’s Degree with distinction in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering (magna cum laude) from Princeton University. Her vision is a world where sustainability values of social cohesion, environmental consciousness, intergenerational equity, and economic health drive decision-making and business practices.
